The prolific MARY SEIFERT, author of the Katie & Maverick Cozy mystery, discussed her writing career with Alan, and disclosed that she has just completed her tenth novel.

From upstate Minnesota, she spoke of the fact that familiar surroundings aided her writing, in addition to friends and family, many of whom she included in her novels using other names, Mary talked of the rigors of the editing process, disclosed that she did not do complete outlines, and how she always knows how her stories would end.

She has won multiple awards for her work.

Roger Stelljes and Doug Dorow

Roger Stelljes’ books have graced both the New York Times and USA Today best seller lists. He is the author of two series, the McRyan Mystery Series and the Tori Hunter-Manchester Bay series. His books have been downloaded more than three million times. His most recent book, Taken in the Cold, is the seventh book featuring FBI special agent Tori Hunter.

Doug Dorow is the author of two FBI series. The first series is set in Minnesota and features FBI Special Agent Jack Miller. The second, the Critical Incident Series, is a three-book series of novellas features a rotating cast of characters that comprise the FBI Hostage Rescue Team. Dorow is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy.

CHERYL BAILEY is a retired gynecological oncologist and her gripping first novel, “Poised,” is a heart-warming story of her battles as a female, trying to crack the male-dominated field of cancer medicine in 1990s Kentucky with innovative ideas to make things better for patients. Along the way, she becomes attached to some patients, loses some, and expresses both her passion and pathos. Well-known author Rob Jung hosted this interview.

“Girls in a World at War” is author PEGGY SCHOLBERG’s accounting of her mother’s story as one of five women who served in a hospital in France during World War II. It covers a wide swath of their adventures from the initial crossing of the Atlantic to working with German POWs and their adventures from Paris to Switzerland. It offers a female non-combatant’s perspective.

Allen Eskens & Brian Lutterman (12-20-2024)

BRIAN LUTTERMAN, who boasts a long career as an attorney, is the author of the highly acclaimed Pen Wilkinson series, but took a right-turn with his latest novel, “Incel,” a term for involuntary celibates, a psychological thriller about a group of disturbed males who prey on and threaten the lives of successful, powerful women.

ALLEN ESKENS’ latest novel, “The Quiet Librarian,” will be released in February, 2025. A recently retired attorney, his previous novels, translated into 23 languages, have won numerous awards including the Minnesota Book Award, a Barry Award, and he has been a finalist for the prestigious Edgar Award.
