Michael Allan Mallory is the author of The Lost Dragon Murder, winner of a Best Independent Book Award and a finalist for both the Midwest Book Awards and the Silver Falchion Award. He is also the co-author of two novels featuring zoologist sleuth Lavender “Snake” Jones, and his short stories have appeared in numerous mystery magazines and anthologies.

Cheri Johnson is the author of Annika Rose, winner of the 2022 Women’s Prose Prize from Red Hen Press. Under the pen name Sigrid Brown, she published the literary mystery The Girl in Duluth, which won a 2023 Midwest Book Award. She has also written fiction, poetry, reviews, literary biographies, and nonfiction books for young readers.
